Why principals choose to partner with me ...
I am different to a Collegiate Principal - no alignment or reporting to DoE Directors.
I've carried the weight of school leadership.
I bring curiosity, experience and a commitment to helping you discover clarity, make consistent decisions and create lasting meaningful difference.
I've sat in the principal's chair, for 20 years in 4 diverse schools.
"If you're looking for practical leadership support from someone who's genuinely lived the role, call Elsie.
Her authentic experience and real understanding make all the difference."

"I loved being a primary school principal.
Today, I have the privilege of walking alongside those who lead our schools now."
Elsie Clelland brings two decades of leadership across Western Australian schools to Flourishing Leadership.
Twenty years as a primary school principal across regional, remote and metropolitan settings has provided deep insight into both the responsibility and complexity of school leadership; the joy it brings, and the challenges leaders quietly carry.
Grounded in candour, humour, lived experience and deep understanding, Elsie works alongside principals with a clear focus on what matters most: values-driven leadership, strong relationships and two unwavering questions, "How much better if ...?" and "What is best for all children?"
This work is built on integrity, trust and genuine partnership, creating the conditions for leaders to flourish.
"I understand both the privilege and the weight of leadership, with the importance of creating space for leaders to reflect, grow and thrive sustainably."

Enhancing Parent Partnerships
Parent meetings are high-stakes conversations about deeply loved children and an important part of our work.
They require calm leadership, deep listening, clear expectations and respectful boundaries.
When schools establish shared language, consistent processes and strong relational practices, parent partnerships become more constructive, collaborative and sustainable for everyone.
Without guidance or structure, however, parent meetings can quickly become emotional, reactive and difficult to navigate for teachers, leaders and families alike.
Elsie has developed several practical frameworks to guide teachers, and all staff to effectively navigate parent meetings to optimise partnerships.

together we can do so much.” — Helen Keller
Learning & Development

Born on the lands of the Wilyakali people in far west New South Wales, I am privileged to live on Whadjuck Noongar Boodja, Perth - my home since 2020 after living across Western Australia.
I acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on, and waters near where I live, learn, work and grow.
I pay my respects to Elders past and present of this land, and all those throughout Australia, as they hold the culture, stories and dreams of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People. I recognise and respect their wisdom in ways of knowing, doing and their continued relationship with land and waterways.
